At a specialized yacht builder, every yacht is built to the highest standards of perfection. As a Technical Project Leader, you bear full technical responsibility for the realization of these yachts. These are projects with multi-year construction times and significant budgets, where owners accept nothing less than the best. This is not an executive role; you direct, decide, and intervene where necessary, with the mandate to do so.
What you will do.
- From contract signing to delivery, technical management is in your hands.
- You are ultimately responsible for mechanical systems, electrical systems, construction, regulations, design, and engineering.
- You proactively manage planning and budget, identify risks early, and intervene to prevent delays.
- You evaluate design and engineering from suppliers and co-builders, both technically and financially. Your approval is final.
- You are the point of contact for the owner's team for all technical matters.
- You translate wishes into feasible solutions within established time, budget, and quality requirements.
- Together with Engineering and Purchasing, you ensure specifications are correct before construction begins.
- At the shipyard, with co-builders and sister companies, your knowledge is the authority the finishing team relies on.
- The result of your work is not just a ship that sails. It is a ship that does exactly what it was built for, without compromise.
Profile
- You are a technical professional who seeks responsibility.
- You have a technical HBO (higher professional education) background.
- You have proven experience in shipbuilding or yacht building, having managed complex technical projects from start to finish.
- You are capable of making tough decisions when things go wrong.
- You possess in-depth knowledge of (super)yacht construction.
- Your greatest strength lies in connecting owners, suppliers, engineers, and shipyard personnel.
- You think analytically, oversee the whole, and never lose sight of the details.
- You become sharper under pressure.
- You are convincing without forcing, solution-oriented without compromising quality, and communicate effortlessly in Dutch and English.
