Test Engineer
For a modernization program, aimed at simplifying and modernizing the pension landscape, we are looking for an experienced Test Engineer. Within this program, the BPM (Business Process Management) layer is being moved from SAP FS-PM (WFM) to OutSystems, and processes are being re-engineered. You will ensure, together with developers, BPM specialists, product owners, and end-users, that new and modified processes demonstrably function well, are easily integratable, and can go live with the desired quality.
As a Test Engineer, you will take ownership of the testing approach within the team. You will structure functional, integration, API, and regression tests and help to shift testing earlier in the development process. You look beyond your own application: precisely the coherence between SAP, OutSystems, APIs, and surrounding chains requires analytical ability, technical curiosity, and clear coordination with other teams.
What you will do.
- Translate requirements, process designs, and acceptance criteria into concrete, risk-based test scenarios and test cases
- Set up, maintain, and execute the testing approach within the team for functional, integration, API, and regression tests
- Automate tests with the tools used, including Bruno for API testing and Tosca for end-to-end and regression tests
- Validate the functionality and coherence of SAP FS-PM, OutSystems, APIs, and surrounding systems
- Prepare and coordinate end-to-end and integration tests as soon as changes affect team or system boundaries
- Analyze findings and test results, document them transparently, and work with developers and other stakeholders to find a solution
- Strengthen shift-left testing by contributing to discussions on testability, acceptance criteria, risks, and required test coverage from the refinement phase
- Contribute to loosely coupled testing, so that components can be tested as independently as possible and with less dependency on complete chains
- Contribute to the further professionalization and automation of testing, with Playwright as a possible future addition to the testing tools
What they ask for.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Test Engineer, at HBO (higher professional education) thinking and working level, with demonstrable theoretical and practical knowledge of software testing
- Experience with functional testing, integration, regression, API testing, and test automation
- Experience with Bruno, Postman, and/or Tosca. Experience with Playwright is a plus
- Experience with testing in a DevOps or Scrum team and with early involvement in refinement and acceptance criteria
- Experience with one or more of the following domains or technologies: Pensions and pension products, SAP FS-PM or SAP ERP, OutSystems and WSO2, and API integrations
Profile
We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer who views quality as a shared team responsibility. You can independently guide testing, easily collaborate with developers, analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders, and effectively liaise with other teams when dependencies require it.
Practical aspects. You will work within a multidisciplinary DevOps Scrum team including developers, BPM specialists, analysts, and a product owner. The teams modernize processes for advisors, employers, and employees, working across the boundaries of SAP, OutSystems, and integration platforms. During refinements and PI planning, you help to make risks, testability, dependencies, and required test coverage visible early on.
For chain-wide changes, you actively coordinate with testers and specialists from other teams.
