The client is a leading, liquid group in the Belgian service and energy sector. To strengthen their market position and prepare for the future, the technical branch is being merged into a streamlined, independent business unit. This standalone entity will eventually consist of an organization of approximately 60 to 80 employees (mainly blue collars and project managers) with its own P&L and payroll. As General Manager, you will lead this unification.
You will transform three overlapping companies into one powerful, scalable entity. You will be responsible for operational integration, the development of the management team, due diligence regarding permits, and market positioning.
What you will do.
- Strategic unification & P&L: you will operationally and organizationally merge the three entities. You will be ultimately responsible for the P&L, EBITDA growth, and the financial health of the new structure.
- Operational & leadership: you will optimize project and sales cycles (over 2,000 projects annually) and establish strict structures for capacity planning of approximately 40 technicians/project managers in the field.
- Compliance, permits & Due Diligence: you will monitor legal frameworks, environmental regulations, and necessary permits and ensure the organization operates 100% compliantly.
- Stakeholder & network management: You will be the figurehead for external bodies, partners, and clients.
- Change Management: You will build a unified company culture, manage field leaders, and guide personnel through this transformation.
Profile
- Proven track record as General Manager, Operations Director, or Business Unit Manager within a large technical service or installation environment (e.g., large construction/infrastructure organizations).
- Familiar with leading an organization of 60–100 employees (mainly blue collars) and experienced in restructuring commercial and operational processes.
- No 9-to-5 or 'mileage counter' mentality; a no-nonsense leader who is visibly present on the shop floor.
- Fluent in Dutch / French.
