Textile Work Supervisor

In this role, you guide these individuals in a workshop where they perform simple production work. You ensure they can work daily, providing them with a meaningful daily activity. Thanks to your efforts, they are well-prepared for a successful return to society.

What you do

As a work supervisor, you guide and motivate a group of up to 24 individuals during their activities in a workshop or workroom. The content of the work varies per workroom but mainly consists of production work and skilled labor, such as textiles.

  • Ensure work is performed well and products are completed on time.
  • Play an important motivating and coaching role in the workplace.
  • Encourage good work and maintain motivation.
  • Conduct firm conversations and set clear boundaries.
  • Take the lead and ensure rules are followed, while supporting individuals in their development.
  • Prepare the workroom and distribute tasks.
  • Guide individuals during their work, provide explanations, answer questions, and assist when needed.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as ordering goods, sending invoices, and tracking hours worked.
  • Conduct progress interviews about their development.
  • Maintain contact with clients to ensure products and assignments meet agreed standards.

What they ask

  • Demonstrable MBO 4 work and thinking level (assessed with a capacity test).
  • Some experience working in production, maintenance, logistics, metal, bread/pastry, woodworking, textiles, or building maintenance.
  • Good communication skills in Dutch and preferably also in English.
  • Good physical and mental condition.
  • Enjoys working with groups of people and helping them progress, even when they show resistance.
  • Good at explaining, remains alert, and always has an eye for safety.
  • Ability to set boundaries and conduct firm conversations.
  • Ability to put things into perspective and empathy, while maintaining professional distance.
