You contribute to the arrival of a new type of vessels. As a Planner within a complex transition program, you ensure overview and coherence. You consolidate plans, identify dependencies and bottlenecks, and ensure that program management can adjust in time.
A defense organization is preparing for the arrival of new vessels. Within a large transition program, it is ensured that the organization is ready to receive and successfully commission these new vessels. The program consists of five interconnected sub-projects and a program team. The sub-projects focus on business operations, personnel, training, material and logistics, and real estate and infrastructure, among other things. As a Planner, you work within the program team.
Together with your colleagues, you provide overview and guidance for the various sub-projects. You work in an environment where military, political, and international interests converge. Your planning and analyses provide insight into progress and the consequences of choices for time, capacity, and resources, thereby helping program management make timely and well-founded decisions.
What you do
As a Planner, you are responsible for the integrated planning of the program and the coherence between the various sub-projects. You look ahead, identify bottlenecks, and help the program adjust in time.
- Develops and maintains integrated and sub-project plans
- Visualizes critical paths, dependencies
- Creates and monitors capacity and transition plans
- Monitors progress and processes and analyzes changes
- Identifies delays, risks, and bottlenecks and advises on solutions
- Performs scenario analyses and visualizes the consequences of choices for time, capacity
- Provides input for management reports
- Acts as a sparring partner for the Risk and Quality Manager and the program manager
- Ensures that processes for monitoring and steering are properly set up and followed
- Contributes to the fulfillment of other program-wide support tasks
You work closely with the various sub-projects and involved parties. You are not only concerned with the planning itself but also look at the bigger picture: what does a change mean for the rest of the program and where should adjustments be made in time?

- An HBO education, or an MBO-4 education with several years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of planning methodologies, project management, and planning tools
- Experience with setting up, maintaining, and analyzing project plans
- Good advisory and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with various parties
- A course or training in project management, such as IPMA or PRINCE2, is a significant advantage
