Supervisor Elderly Client

A care organization is looking for a supervisor for elderly clients with an intellectual disability and associated problems.

• The focus is on delving into life stories and providing person-centered support.
• Clients' care needs change with age and include mobility problems, dementia, and palliative or somatic care questions.

What you will do.

• Act as a coach, motivator, care provider, confidant, and companion.
• Encourage elderly clients to continue doing what they can.
• Get to know their life story, customs, and habits.
• Support clients, together with colleagues, in maintaining their qualities and possibilities.
• Give clients their own autonomy where possible.
• Lovingly guide them when necessary.
• Provide peace, clarity, and tailor-made care.
• Daily tasks include:
• Starting with handover and discussing current issues with colleagues.
• Helping clients start the day, from personal care to shared breakfast.
• During the day, providing guidance for daily activities: a walk, a game, or recalling memories.
• Sometimes providing somatic or nursing care, tailored to individual needs.
• Paying attention to signs of changes in behavior or health and discussing these with the team and involved specialists.
• Ending the day calmly: a chat, a cup of tea, and handover for the evening shift.
