Residential Counselor
You want to make a difference in the daily lives of people who are struggling due to psychological vulnerability. They are looking for a way to shape their own lives. You support them in this. You do this together with colleagues you can rely on and other involved people in the clients' lives. An organization supports people aged 18 and over with psychological vulnerability in shaping their daily lives, in the areas of living, working and learning, social contacts, and meaning.
Clients can reside in a property of the organization or continue to live independently. The recovery philosophy is based on self-direction and individual freedom of choice.
What you will do.
- You provide guidance to clients with psychological/psychiatric vulnerability, individually or in a group.
- You work irregular hours, including late, early, and weekend shifts, and sleep shifts.
- Occasionally, you provide support for Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
- Based on the municipal decision, you draw up a guidance plan with the client, monitor progress, and adjust it where necessary.
- Together with the client, you take charge of their recovery.
- You work at a sheltered living location where clients reside in a 24-hour living setting.
- Together with your team, you are responsible for the results, quality of guidance, expertise, and development.
- You maintain contact with network/chain partners where necessary.
- In a specific neighborhood, you primarily support clients with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in an apartment complex.
- You bring a strong dose of empathy and ensure a safe environment, adapting to the client's needs.
- Together with a Supportive Residential Counselor and a Professional Team Supporter, you are responsible for the results and quality of the support.

What they ask
- Minimum completed MBO 4 education in healthcare, with HBO working and thinking level.
- Demonstrable experience in mental healthcare (GGZ).
- Knowledge of psychopathology.
- A network within (and outside) the social map.
- An eye for opportunities and possibilities to seek solutions involving the client, their network, or chain partners.
- The ability to inspire trust in clients.
- Patience, perseverance, and alertness.
- Experience with working with a PC and other digital communication tools, such as an iPad.
- A valid Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).
