Human Resources Advisor

An organization is seeking an experienced HR Advisor for a six-month fixed-term contract to cover a short-term absence. You will advise managers and support employees across various locations, including terminals and ships.

What you will do.

• Advising managers on employee relations matters, including performance, absence, conduct, grievances and workplace disputes
• Managing reintegration, dismissal and employment-law cases
• Delivering end-to-end recruitment, from vacancy writing and interviewing to selection and salary negotiations
• Interpreting and applying Dutch and Belgian employment legislation, collective labour agreements and company policies
• Supporting organisational change and communicating policy updates
• Advising employees on contracts, terms and conditions, development and promotion
• Managing onboarding, offboarding, contract administration and legal deadlines accurately
• Monitoring lead times, legal deadlines and contractual agreements and taking action on them
• Using and improving HR systems such as ADP, Oracle, Adonis and other HRIS
• Working independently across multiple locations, cultures and legal jurisdictions
• Building trusted relationships with managers, employees and external specialists
• Keeping the Employee Handbook and HR procedures up to date

What they ask

• A completed college degree in Human Resources Management or a similar field
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Willingness to travel to a location in Belgium (costs are reimbursed)
• Excellent command of both the Dutch and English languages
