This assignment is for an experienced Automation Project Engineer for a leading manufacturing company.
- With multiple investment projects simultaneously entering the execution phase, an experienced engineer is sought to take responsibility for automation packages and successfully bring them to start-up.
- This is not a pure PLC programming role; the focus is on coordinating machine builders and system integrators, reviewing technical deliverables, and supporting commissioning.
- Programming skills are valued for troubleshooting and technical credibility, rather than for daily development.
What you will do.
- Ownership of the automation scope within investment projects, from design to start-up
- Lead and coordinate machine builders, system integrators
- Review designs and technical deliverables against the organization's engineering standards
- Review the electrical scope, including electrical diagrams and cabinet designs
- Lead and support FAT, SAT, commissioning
- Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting where necessary
- Ensure compliance with machine safety requirements and internal standards
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams
Profile
- Experienced automation engineer with a proven track record in delivering investment projects in manufacturing environments
- Strong experience with Rockwell (preferably) or Siemens PLCs; both are a plus
- Solid background in project engineering
- Demonstrable experience in managing machine builders and suppliers
- Hands-on experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning
- Good electrical knowledge, including reading electrical diagrams and assessing the electrical scope; this is essential, as automation and electricity fall within one engineering team
- Thorough knowledge of machine safety
- Broad experience in OT / industrial automation and insight into the complete delivery of machines
- Able to work independently with minimal onboarding
