We are looking for a strong professional to take the facilities of a production environment to the next level. With increasing production demands and the continuous introduction of new products, the production environment requires expansion and modernization. The facilities professional will manage a portfolio of large new-build or rebuild projects (CAPEX around €10M). You will gather requirements across the organization and drive these plans to realization in close collaboration with the real estate team.
In this role, you will ensure that required manufacturing facilities are available both in the short and long term, based on information provided by internal departments regarding production systems. You will coordinate with building partners, planning teams, and external stakeholders.
What you do
- Gather and document requirements
- Communicate requirements to various internal and external partners
- Guide the design and engineering process
- Manage the execution of facility construction and upgrades
- Lead the design of a production environment from scratch, including building infrastructure
- Optimize factory layout for efficient flow of parts and equipment
- Support the required production facilities in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders, both short term and long term
- Oversee high-level CAD solutions to create flexible production facilities, such as assembly work centers, test cabins, or improved layouts
- Implement concurrent engineering practices to accommodate continuous changes in a running production environment
- Collect equipment data (dimensions, connections, locations, utility consumption) and translate it into a clear facility design
- Lead scope change management regarding scope, schedule
- Ensure compliance with local government building regulations
What they ask
- Master’s degree (or Bachelor’s degree with experience) in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or Applied Physics is preferred
- Relevant experience in Facilities or a related area is required
- 5–10 years of related experience
- Affinity with high-tech equipment and a proven ability to organize complex work
- Expertise in plant layout and product flow analysis
- Cleanroom experience to understand additional requirements such as cleanliness
- Experience in cleanroom facility design and specification
- CAD-based layout design experience
