Support Worker for Unexplained Behavior

You will work with residents who are deaf or hard of hearing and have an intellectual disability, autism, or other support needs. Sometimes they exhibit behavior that is difficult to understand. You will help residents feel safe by providing calm, clarity, and attention.
What you will do.
- Guide with ADL activities and personal care
- Work with and adjust behavior based on the care plan
- Respond de-escalatingly in case of unrest or tension
- Promote social interaction and independence
- Communicate via gestures, pictograms, and other supportive means

Practical
During your training, you will follow MBO Social Care level 3 or 4 and various training courses, such as:
- Dealing with tension and aggression
- De-escalating work
- Communicating with Dutch Sign Language
- Finger spelling
- Pictograms and other supportive communication tools
