Product Owner
For an organization in the region, a Product Owner is sought to translate the product vision into a clear, prioritized, and actionable backlog. You ensure that user stories and acceptance criteria align with the needs of customers and end-users and contribute to the digital transformation ambitions of a department.
As a link between the department's experts and the digital delivery teams, you translate business needs and long-term challenges related to grid planning into clear priorities and concrete product requirements.
What you will do. The role includes, among other things:
- Product vision, continuous discovery, backlog management, release planning, stakeholder alignment, quality assurance, adoption monitoring, and continuous improvement
- Defining and communicating the product vision, priorities, and roadmap for an assigned product team, in line with the strategy and objectives of the product line
- Managing, prioritizing, and continuously improving the backlog, with clear epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and value-driven choices
- Organizing continuous discovery with expert communities and end-users within the department, including defining problems, testing assumptions, and analyzing usage and results data
- Coordinating sprint and release planning with other Product Owners and identifying and resolving dependencies that impact the team
- Aligning stakeholders within the organization, IT, Data, and the various expert communities
- Translating business needs into concrete product results and ensuring clear expectations regarding scope, value, and product direction
- Accepting completed user stories, ensuring sufficient testing and documentation, and supporting and monitoring the adoption of delivered functionalities by users
- Fostering Agile working methods, continuous improvement, and pragmatic innovation
Profile
- Master's degree or equivalent by experience, with demonstrable experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or in a similar role within an Agile, digital, or product-oriented environment
- Strong knowledge of the energy sector and the grid development context, including grid studies, scenarios, long-term planning, and portfolio prioritization. Candidates from other regulated, infrastructure, or data-intensive environments who can quickly build this knowledge are also encouraged to apply
- Experience with data products, analytical tools, workflow digitalization, decision-support tools, or the productization of business-critical tools is a strong asset
- Ability to translate expert and user needs into clear product objectives, backlog priorities, and acceptance criteria
- Capable of making pragmatic trade-offs between value, feasibility, risks, and delivery constraints, supported by qualitative and quantitative data
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with sufficient credibility to guide a multidisciplinary team without hierarchical authority
- Fluent in English and able to communicate professionally in Dutch and/or French
- Collaborative and improvement-oriented mindset, with attention to transparency, experimentation, continuous learning
