For an organization, we are looking for an experienced professional with strong substantive knowledge of Belgian social law and/or soft HR. Preference is given to one person who can combine both domains. However, depending on the profile, candidates who wish to focus half-time on one of the assignments are also welcome.
The ideal candidate combines legal expertise with a pragmatic approach, can clearly translate complex matters into practice, and feels comfortable in an environment where knowledge sharing, advice, and collaboration are central.
What you will do (Assignment 1 – Legal Advisor Social Law).
- Advise members on complex issues within Belgian individual and collective labor law
- Answer complex socio-legal questions
- Monitor and analyze legislation, case law, and collective labor agreements (CLAs)
- Monitor the activities of relevant joint committees
- Prepare positions, advice, and technical notes
- Participate in the preparation of sectoral negotiations
- Draft articles, news items, FAQs, and other legal documentation
- Provide training, webinars, and information sessions
- Support colleagues in socio-legal files
- Translate complex legal matters into clear, practical, and usable advice
Your expertise.
- Excellent knowledge of Belgian individual labor law
- Excellent knowledge of Belgian collective labor law
- Knowledge of social consultation structures
- Knowledge of collective labor agreements (CLAs)
- Knowledge of the functioning of joint committees
- Knowledge of the interpretation of CLAs
- Knowledge of social consultation between employer and employee organizations
Profile
- Preferably approximately 10 years of relevant experience
- French-speaking or very strong knowledge of French
- Immediately operational
- Pragmatic and solution-oriented
- Strongly analytical
- Excellent written skills
- Fluent and convincing speaker
- Able to work independently and take responsibility
- Affinity with knowledge sharing and making complex matters accessible
