Within a road management program, an operational team is responsible for executing planned activities.
- The assignment involves providing traffic engineering advice for the management, maintenance, and development of the road network of a government organization.
- The advice focuses on both tactical-operational and strategic-tactical issues.
- Contribute to a sustainably safe, accessible, and future-proof infrastructure design.
- Prepare traffic engineering analyses, advice, assessments, and design proposals to support management, maintenance, and project tasks.
- Coordination with involved internal and external stakeholders.
- Independently provide traffic engineering expertise, analyses, advice, and assessments.
What you will do.
- Prepare traffic engineering advice and preliminary designs that translate traffic engineering preconditions and policy principles into appropriate design proposals.
- Analyze traffic engineering bottlenecks, including substantiated solutions.
- Assess plans for road safety, accessibility, and applicability.
- Provide traffic engineering advice for maintenance, replacement, and reconstruction projects.
- Contribute traffic engineering input and justifications for traffic decisions.
- Develop and update traffic engineering design frameworks.
- Analyze traffic data, reports, and speed measurements to support policy and implementation choices.
- Advise on the design and application of traffic and speed measurements.
- Make recommendations for monitoring and managing traffic performance.
- Provide substantive contributions to regional partnerships, working groups, and projects in the field of traffic and mobility.
- Advise on the traffic engineering consequences of developments within the management area and appropriate measures.
Profile
- Operate independently based on own expertise.
- Responsible for achieving agreed-upon results.
- The method of execution and the deployment of time, resources, and expertise are determined independently, within the framework of the assignment.
- Coordination with involved internal and external stakeholders.

- Driving license B.
- Minimum HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level.
- Demonstrable knowledge in the field of Traffic Engineering.
- Knowledge in road design, traffic models, road safety, and traffic flow.
- Good organizational, networking, analytical, and communicative skills.
- Minimum 3 years of experience within a government institution in the field of traffic engineering.
Preferences.
- Experience in project management and/or environmental management is a plus.
- Description of work attitude and communicative skills demonstrating the candidate's ability to execute the assignment independently.
