As a teacher, you are involved in developing the language and cultural understanding of your students.
- The subject is very diverse and challenging, where students learn about grammar, speaking skills, vocabulary, literature, and regional studies.
- In the lower grades, the subject is compulsory; it is your challenge to enthuse them so they choose this subject in the upper grades.
- You are involved in developing teaching materials and choosing teaching methods, as well as organizing excursions.
- Christian citizenship is woven through your lessons, considering topics such as global citizenship and learning about other cultures.

- You hold an HBO qualification, or are willing to study for one.
- You enjoy working collaboratively in a team, for example, to develop assignments, and will often work with a teaching assistant.
- You are creative and seek opportunities to connect the subject matter to the students' world.
- You are an active member of one of the participating church denominations.
