Environmental Permit Officer

South HollandOn site36 hours/week3-6months

Working for Safety, Permits, Supervision, and Enforcement (VTH) contributes daily to the sense of safety and liveability of residents. The coach/senior permit officer is hired to strengthen the continuity and quality of permit issuance within the team. The coaching role is central: the senior guides colleagues on complex issues, actively transfers knowledge, and stimulates their professional development.

From extensive experience with large, complex, and multidisciplinary projects, the senior brings overview, structure, and coherence. The senior advises on complex environmental permits, directs integrated advice, and monitors the quality and progress of decision-making. Where necessary, clear priorities are set and decisions are made, so that dossiers are handled in a timely, careful, and legally sound manner.

The senior is the substantive point of contact for colleagues and takes responsibility for the collective result. In politically sensitive dossiers, the senior acts with political-administrative sensitivity and environmental awareness. The senior recognizes diverse interests, understands administrative relationships, and communicates carefully with initiators, administrators, management, and external partners.

In addition to the coaching and coordinating role, the senior personally handles extensive and complex permit applications. Together with the team leader, quality officer, and other seniors, direction is given to process improvement, quality development, and further professionalization of the cluster, with collaboration, ownership, and results-orientation being central. The hired coach makes a demonstrable contribution to the development of colleagues within the Permits team during the assignment.
