Policy Advisor Reception & Integration
Within the Reception and Integration team at a government organization, there is a versatile and socially relevant portfolio. This involves issues related to the reception, housing, integration, and participation of asylum seekers, status holders, Ukrainian displaced persons, and other new residents. This is a field of work that is constantly evolving. National and regional developments directly influence local practice.
You know how to translate these developments into what they mean for the organization and provide clear advice to the board, management, and leadership on direction, choices, and implementation. We are looking for someone who can operate independently from day one, quickly distinguish main from side issues, and bring calm to a complex portfolio. You anticipate administrative and social risks, know how to bring different interests together, and dare to give clear advice where necessary.
What you will do.
- Direct organizational policy regarding reception, housing, integration
- Quickly delve into complex and politically-administratively sensitive dossiers and determine priorities
- Advise the board, management, and leadership, both solicited and unsolicited
- Prepare, among other things, college and council proposals, administrative memos
- Translate national, European, regional, and local developments, laws, and regulations into concrete policy choices
- Maintain and strengthen cooperation with relevant partners
- Connect the social domain with housing, real estate, spatial development, economy, security, and communication, among others
- Identify administrative and social risks and develop various courses of action
- Manage projects and programs and ensure that policy, decision-making, implementation, and communication are well aligned
- Represent the organization in regional and national consultations
- Ensure a careful transfer and safeguarding of knowledge within the team and the organization

What they ask
- A completed relevant HBO bachelor's degree
- At least 5 years of recent experience as a policy advisor within a government organization
- Demonstrable experience in relevant policy areas such as asylum, reception, housing of status holders, and/or integration
- Experience with strategic administrative advice on complex and politically-administratively sensitive dossiers
- Experience with drafting college and/or council proposals
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations and national developments
- Preferably experience with regional cooperation and managing or directing chain partners
Preferences.
- You have a relevant network
- Experience with collaborative partners is a clear advantage
