A long-term and technically challenging assignment is available at a rapidly growing industrial machine building company. You will join an experienced engineering team and contribute to complex, customer-specific machines and automated production lines, primarily for the food industry.
What you do
- Develop 3D concepts and machine layouts based on functional customer requirements.
- Design mechanical solutions involving drives, servos, chains, belts, robots, and constructions.
- Monitor technical feasibility, safety, and robustness of designs.
- Provide technical guidance to junior and medior mechanical designers.
- Distribute and follow up on design work and perform technical reviews.
- Act as a senior technical point of contact within projects.
- Collaborate closely with automation, sales, work preparation, and assembly.
- Regular presence on the shop floor to align designs with practical implementation.
- Contribute to standardization, PDM structures, modular solutions, and optimization of engineering processes.
- Apply principles of hygienic design, washdown, and food-grade machine construction.
Profile
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a mechanical designer/engineer.
- Strong experience with SolidWorks or a comparable 3D CAD package.
- Technically strong in drives, pneumatics, sensors, electromechanics, and constructions, among others.
- Experience with food machinery, hygienic design, or washdown applications is a plus.
- You are independent, pragmatic, and take ownership of your technical responsibility.
- You have sufficient seniority to guide colleagues technically and make technical decisions.
- Excellent knowledge of Dutch is essential.
- You enjoy working closely with production and have a hands-on mentality.
