Health and Safety Coordinator and Prevention Officer

This assignment involves a temporary capacity expansion within a government organization.

Additional support is needed for the implementation and further development of Health and Safety (Arbo) and prevention tasks.
The activities are part of the organization's regular operations and are organizationally embedded within the HR department.
The goal is to further professionalize and secure working conditions.
The professional collaborates intensively with colleagues, management, the works council, the emergency response organization (BHV), and external Health and Safety partners.

What you do

Independently perform and coordinate statutory prevention tasks.
Develop, update, and secure the Health and Safety policy.
Translate laws and regulations into practical processes, procedures, guidelines, and preventive interventions.
Serve as the primary point of contact for working conditions, safety, and health within the organization.
Advise management, the works council, and teams on Health and Safety and security issues.
Conduct, guide, and update the Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E).
Monitor the implementation of RI&Es and associated action plans.
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, security, and emergency response legislation.
Conduct workplace investigations and advise on improvement measures.
Lead and coordinate the emergency response organization and support the organization of training and exercises.
Register and analyze incidents and advise on preventive measures.
Organize information sessions and toolbox meetings on safe and healthy working.
Identify developments in laws and regulations and translate them into practical applications within the organization.

What they ask

Minimum 1 year of demonstrable work experience as a Prevention Officer and/or Health and Safety Coordinator.
Demonstrable work experience in the past 4 years with the Health and Safety Act (Arbowet) and relevant laws and regulations.
Demonstrable work experience with conducting RI&Es.

Preferences.

Demonstrable work experience as a prevention officer or Health and Safety coordinator within a municipal or government organization.
Demonstrable work experience with developing and implementing Health and Safety policy.
Demonstrable work experience with coordinating an emergency response organization.
Demonstrable work experience with advising management, executive board, and works council regarding working conditions, safety, and health within the organization.
At least a completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in Human Resource Management (HRM), Work and Health, Safety Science, or similar.
