As an Individual Caregiver (Verzorgende IG), you contribute to the care of people with a severe psychiatric disorder (EPA) within a specialized mental healthcare institution. You guide and care for clients in a High & Intensive Care (HIC) unit and a Recovery Intensive Follow-up Unit (HIVA). These units are crucial for clients dealing with EPA, often in combination with addiction issues.
In the HIC unit, you provide intensive guidance to clients who have temporarily relapsed and require extra support to stabilize. You act in a de-escalating manner, maintain an overview in crisis situations, and contribute to a safe and calm environment.
In the HIVA unit, you guide clients who come from an intensive treatment setting and are working on their recovery. You support them in building structure, increasing self-reliance, and preparing for transition to less intensive living or treatment forms. You work in a dynamic and secure environment and, together with a multidisciplinary team, make a direct contribution to the client's stability, safety, and perspective.
