We are looking for an experienced engineer who, together with the team, will ensure the rollout of a new development workspace based on Microsoft Dev Box to all development teams. The first developers are already using a Dev Box, which now needs to be further rolled out and developed. The Development Support Team (OST) of a government organization provides CI/CD tooling and development workspaces to the development teams. On average, about two hundred developers use the Citrix-based virtual development VDI daily.
The current development VDI offers insufficient capabilities to support software development based on modern technologies. Therefore, a new development workspace is being realized based on Microsoft Dev Box and managed by Intune, incorporating zero-trust principles. The assignment is to roll out the first product release (MVP) to all developers together with the team.
What you do
- Lead the technical aspects of the project, including operational issues and the design and implementation of additional features
- Coordinate with team members and stakeholders, such as architects, security officers, and engineers from other teams (e.g., Azure team, network management, workspace management)
- Maintain a good relationship with the developers (end-users of the development workspace)
- Work with the latest technologies, including Java, Splunk, AppDynamics, Archimate, ReadyAPI
- Agile approach in SCRUM teams and with DevOps
- Collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines and join forces with chain partners and market parties
- Contribute to a new way of working in autonomous teams consisting of developers, administrators, and end-users (BusDevOps)

- Strong analytical skills
- Able to plan and organize own work, and achieve set goals
- Actively manage stakeholder expectations and ensure decision-making when the scope or planning of the assignment changes
- Good collaboration skills, open communication
- Takes initiative and acts proactively
What they ask
- Demonstrable experience (2 years) with designing and setting up Intune and Conditional Access (management alone is not sufficient)
- Demonstrable experience with Azure DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience (2 years) with designing and developing development workspaces based on Microsoft Dev Box and/or AVD and/or Windows 365
- Certified Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
- Certified Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (or equivalent; Fundamentals is not sufficient)
- Demonstrable experience (2 years) as a Lead Engineer in realizing a modern cloud-based workspace
Preferences.
- Experience with software catalogs (e.g., Patch My PC)
- Experience with Defender for Endpoint
