A Project Manager is sought for an international player in industrial automation. After the commercial handover, you will be responsible for the execution at the end customer, from kick-off to commissioning, start-up, and handover. You will manage projects ranging from €2 million to €5 million, with peaks up to approximately €10 million. The Project Engineers handle the technical coordination; you monitor scope, planning, budget, risks, and stakeholders.
What you do
- Take over projects after commercial handover and guide them to final delivery
- Translate the contractual scope into an execution plan with clear milestones
- Coordinate internal teams, Project Engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and client representatives
- Lead Project Engineers, who are responsible for technical coordination
- Monitor the coherence between engineering, production, installation, and on-site execution
- Follow up on installation, testing, commissioning, start-up, acceptance
- Monitor scope, planning, budget, project margin, quality
- Assess change requests and additional work for timing, budget, resources, feasibility
- Substantiate changes, obtain approval, and follow up financially
- Identify project risks and develop control measures
- Manage stakeholder expectations and report clearly to the client, management, and project team
- Organize and lead project meetings and steering committees
What they ask
- At least 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in technically complex projects
- Experience with project budgets from €2 million to €5 million, preferably up to approximately €10 million
- Experience with the full project lifecycle, from commercial handover to final handover
- Background in industrial automation, machine building, intralogistics, material handling, or a comparable technical sector
- Experience with physical installations and engineering is required; pure IT profiles are not eligible
- Strong in planning, budget monitoring, change management, risk management, and stakeholder management
- Sufficient technical affinity to challenge Project Engineers on content
- Knowledge of PRINCE2 or PMBOK is a plus

- Communicative, pragmatic, independent
- Personality, maturity, and entrepreneurship weigh at least as heavily as the diploma
- Professional knowledge of Dutch and English
- French and/or German is a plus
Practical
- Willingness to travel internationally approximately 20%
