Civil Engineering Supervisor
As a civil supervisor, you are involved in both the preparation and execution phases of civil engineering projects in public spaces. You contribute to the quality, progress, and implementation of work and provide integrated solutions that consider technical, political, financial, and social aspects. You are actively involved in both reconstruction and new construction projects and supervise ongoing execution projects.
In doing so, you ensure compliance with contractual agreements, technical requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations. You monitor the progress of the work and promptly identify any deviations, bottlenecks, or risks so that appropriate measures can be taken. You actively follow developments within the field and stay informed of new laws and regulations, technical innovations, and current developments in civil engineering.
You work project-based, make a substantive contribution to various projects, and participate in technical meetings. From your expertise, you contribute ideas for improvements in processes and execution methods and contribute to the further development of public spaces and the quality of the living environment.
What you will do.
- Monitor execution and progress in reconstruction, new construction, and maintenance projects for roads, sewerage, green areas, quay walls, bridges, and other civil engineering structures.
- Ensure compliance with contractual agreements, technical requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Timely identification of deviations, bottlenecks, and risks, and initiation of appropriate measures.
- Perform tasks within projects and participate in technical meetings.
- Contribute ideas for improvements in processes and execution methods.
Profile
- You are involved in both the preparation and execution phases of civil engineering projects in public spaces.
- You contribute to the quality, progress, and implementation of work and provide integrated solutions that consider technical, political, financial, and social aspects.
- Together with the project director, you form the connecting link between internal and external services.
- You collaborate intensively with colleagues from the Space team and Public Space Management team and contribute to good coordination between policy, preparation, execution, and management.
- In addition, you are an important sparring partner for the contractor, the project team, and other involved parties.
- You maintain contacts with all stakeholders involved in the execution of the projects and ensure constructive cooperation aimed at achieving project objectives.
- You actively follow developments within the field and stay informed of new laws and regulations, technical innovations, and current developments in civil engineering.
- You work project-based, make a substantive contribution to various projects, and participate in technical meetings.
- From your expertise, you contribute ideas for improvements in processes and execution methods and contribute to the further development of public spaces and the quality of the living environment.
- The activities to be performed by the contractor are embedded in the client's organization and/or are also (partially or entirely) performed by employees employed by the client.
- The contractor participates in regular work meetings.
- The contractor reports to the client or a supervisor.
- The work form is determined, among other things, by: location and planning for the results to be delivered.
- Work is performed in a team context.
What they ask
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 6 years as a civil supervisor at a governmental organization.
- Demonstrable work experience in the past 3 years with contract forms UAV and UAV-GC.
- Possesses VCA-vol certification.
Preferences.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 8 years as a civil supervisor at a governmental organization.
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 6 years with contract forms UAV and UAV-GC.
- Demonstrable work experience in the past 3 years with BLVC plans (Accessibility, Liveability, Safety, and Communication) in both the preparation and execution of civil engineering projects.
- A personal motivation explaining suitability and motivation for the assignment.
- Willingness to agree to a secondment-to-permanent construction whereby the candidate, after 2000 hours worked, if the client wishes, enters into employment with the client free of charge.
