As a pipeline lawyer, you will have the unique opportunity to help build a new policy area that is rapidly developing. You are naturally curious, proactive, flexible, and enjoy pioneering.
What you will do. You will be a pioneer in a developing policy area, responsible for coordinating space on pipeline corridors. You will work with other government organizations on a main energy structure program, of which pipeline transport is an important part.
- Advise on the deployment, development, or adaptation of existing and/or new legal instruments to achieve more control over pipelines in pipeline corridors (legislation, agreements, covenants).
- Contribute to devising solutions for bottlenecks within the pipeline corridors from a legal perspective, for example, when there are conflicting designations or when corridors run through or next to protected nature areas.
- Advise on the various possibilities in complex situations to force a legal or administrative breakthrough, for example, when pipeline operators and competent authorities have conflicting interests.
You will be a sparring partner for your legal colleagues and advise policy colleagues and government officials on these complex issues. For this, you will collaborate intensively with policy officers within a directorate.
Profile
- Completed university degree in Dutch law.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a legally and administratively complex setting, preferably within the government.
- Broadly oriented and interested lawyer with thorough knowledge.
