Complex Target Group Supervisor

Within the residential service of a specialized care institution, it is essential that residents receive quality care and guidance from supervisors with sufficient knowledge and expertise of the target group with complex care needs. You will follow internal training and courses in communication. The training will be tailored to the communication skills of the residents, for whom communication can be a challenge.

A living group consists of an average of six residents of different ages, each with their own story and unique care needs. In addition to an auditory impairment, residents may also have an intellectual disability, autism, attachment issues, or a syndrome. As a supervisor, you offer care and support that aligns with individual needs, ranging from intensive 1-on-1 guidance to stimulating independence. You make a valuable difference in the lives of the residents every day.

What you do

As a supervisor, you provide deaf and hard-of-hearing residents with structure, clarity, and appropriate support. You work from the treatment plan, stimulate independence, and flexibly respond to daily events. With calm, humor, and genuine attention, you help residents get the best out of themselves. You can accurately assess situations arising from residents' behavior and mood and adjust planned activities if necessary.

  • Physical care and ADL activities and support for daily activities
  • Execute and evaluate care plans
  • Promote social interaction and participation
  • Adapt various communication methods to residents, such as finger spelling, a basic understanding of Dutch Sign Language, and writing with pictogram support

What they ask You are the reliable person that residents and close colleagues can count on. With your empathy, you can see and hear small signals to anticipate difficult-to-understand behavior. In unforeseen situations, you remain calm and act according to what the situation requires. It is important to be able to think several steps ahead.

Practical

You will work in a dedicated and expert team that knows and can rely on each other. There is room for consultation, learning, and honesty. From day one, you will receive a thorough onboarding process with training in Dutch Sign Language, total communication, and managing difficult-to-understand behavior.

  • Collective labor agreement increase in November
  • Choice of a contract for 24, 28, or 32 hours
