An educational and knowledge institution for shipping, transport, and the port industry is looking for a maritime technology teacher. The organization is deeply rooted in the port, on the water, and in the maritime industry, where practice and education come together. You will work with modern facilities and be in close contact with the professional field.
What you do
- Brings practical experience into the classroom for MBO students.
- Prepares students for a career in the maritime manufacturing industry.
- Provides practical and theoretical lessons on topics including:
- Engine room installations
- Propulsion and auxiliary systems
- Maintenance and commissioning of technical installations
- Mechanical engineering activities
- Technical drawing
- Basic operations, possibly supplemented with welding and bench work
- Introduces students to the latest developments in the field, such as alternative fuels, electric and hybrid propulsion, and other innovative technologies.
What they ask
- Experience in shipbuilding, yacht building, industrial manufacturing, or another technical maritime environment.
- Experience with new construction, modification, maintenance, or commissioning of ships and technical installations.
Profile
- Possesses a teaching qualification OR has at least three years of relevant work experience and is willing to obtain a Pedagogical Didactic Certificate (PDG).
- If MBO level 4 is the highest obtained diploma, a capacity assessment may be part of the selection procedure.
- Preferably extensive practical experience within shipbuilding, yacht building, industrial manufacturing, or another technical maritime environment.
- Knowledge of or willingness to delve into the latest technologies within the maritime sector.
- Ability to translate practical experience into inspiring and activating education.
- Enthusiastically engages students in the subject and guides them in their development.
