You play an important role in promoting careful and transparent complaint handling within an independent complaints committee.
- The committee handles an average of 4 complaints annually regarding the services of a public health service.
- You contribute to issuing clear and well-substantiated judgments and advice to the management.
- This advice or judgment may be accompanied by recommendations to the management regarding the monitoring and promotion of service quality.
What you do
- You maintain contact with the administrative secretary of the complaints committee regarding the admissibility of complaints and their procedural handling.
- You lead the meetings and hearings of the committee.
- You ensure an objective procedure and that all parties feel heard.
- You collaborate with committee members and the administrative secretary.
- You support respectful dialogue and encourage objective judgment within the committee.
- You assess advice and decisions for quality, consistency, and legality.
- Where necessary, you represent the committee.
What they ask
- You are a legal professional with knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including the Dutch Healthcare Quality, Complaints and Disputes Act (Wkkgz).
- You preferably have work experience in a similar role.
- You are integer and reliable.
- You possess excellent communication and digital skills.
- You have strong empathy.
- You are flexible, results-oriented, and decisive.
- You are proactive, assertive, and presentable.
- You have knowledge of and affinity with the work fields of a public health service.
- Upon appointment, a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) will be requested.
Practical
- Members of the complaints committee receive a fee arrangement, meaning they are compensated when they take action.
- A hearing is compensated at €450 (excl. VAT) for the chairman.
- A hearing includes a preliminary discussion, the hearing itself, and a post-discussion, totaling approximately 3 hours.
- The chairman has more preparation and a heavier task, including access to the dossier if necessary.
- The committee is supported by an administrative secretary (freelancer) with a rate of €80 per hour (excl. VAT).
- Travel expense reimbursement covers actual costs for public transport or €0.23 per km for car use.
- The chairman, in collaboration with the administrative secretary, is responsible for accounting per complaint and quarterly invoicing of incurred costs.
