Communication Advisor energy transition

The energy transition requires clear, accessible, and target-group-oriented communication. As a Communication Advisor for Energy Transition, you connect strategy and implementation and support project leaders, policy officers, and management with various communication and participation issues.

You translate complex policy and technical subjects into understandable and activating communication and contribute to themes such as the natural gas-free neighborhood approach, the Heat Program, insulation, heating solutions, and financial schemes. In doing so, you connect internal and external partners, including an Energy Desk, and pay attention to support and various interests.

We are looking for a proactive and connecting communication advisor who easily switches between different levels and is visibly involved in communication with society.

What you will do.

  • Advise project leaders, policy advisors, and management on communication approach and participation within the energy transition
  • Ensure that communication around energy transition aligns with the organizational communication policy and contributes to unambiguous and consistent messages
  • Identify communication opportunities and risks and proactively advise on these, including practical solutions
  • Support the translation of policy choices into clear and accessible communication for various target groups
  • Coordinate organizational communication about energy transition with an Energy Desk, with public communication primarily handled by the Energy Desk
  • Monitor coherence, role division, and consistency in messages between the organization and the Energy Desk
  • Act as a point of contact for communication coordination and contribute to joint communication expressions and campaigns
  • Advise on and support participation and communication approaches for the natural gas-free neighborhood approach and the Heat Program
  • Contribute ideas on appropriate participation forms and communication tools, tailored to the target group
  • Contribute to making information understandable and accessible to residents and other stakeholders
  • Support in dealing with potential resistance from society through appropriate communication approaches
  • Draw up and manage the content planning for communication around energy transition
  • Develop and edit target-group-oriented communication tools, such as web texts, resident letters, social media messages, and informative documents
  • Coordinate with communication colleagues on the use of channels, house style, and tone of voice
  • Ensure that information reaches the target group timely and effectively through the right channels
  • Advise on communication to residents about themes such as insulation, heating solutions, and available financial schemes
  • Monitor relevant developments and translate them into understandable communication for the local context
  • Contribute to offering residents a perspective for action by making complex information accessible and practical

What they ask

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 8 years as a communication advisor within a municipal, governmental, or public organization
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrable work experience with communication and/or participation issues in the field of energy transition, sustainability, climate, heat
  • Demonstrable work experience with drafting and editing target-group-oriented communication tools, such as resident letters, web texts, news messages, social media content
  • Demonstrable work experience with advising project leaders, policy advisors, and/or management on communication approaches, communication strategies, and participation processes
  • Demonstrable work experience with developing and implementing communication and participation approaches, tailored to residents and/or other social target groups

Preferences.

  • Demonstrable completed education at a minimum HBO level in the field of Communication
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years with communication and participation issues within energy transition assignments, such as the natural gas-free neighborhood approach, heat programs, insulation programs, energy saving, heating solutions, and/or financial schemes for residents
  • Demonstrable work experience with developing, coordinating, and implementing participation processes for residents, including resident meetings, surveys, online participation, or similar forms of participation
  • Demonstrable work experience with stakeholder management and communication coordination between multiple internal and external parties, such as governmental organizations, energy desks, implementing organizations, social partners, and other chain partners
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrable work experience with translating complex policy and/or technical issues into understandable, accessible, and activating communication for various target groups, including drawing up content plans and communication tools
