As an ICT/GIS specialist at a training institute, you ensure that instructors and trainees can work with reliable, up-to-date, and well-functioning ICT and GIS systems. You work at the intersection of ICT, geo-information, and innovative technology, such as drones and sensors. You will work within an instruction platoon of a training and education center of a military organization. The focus of your activities will be on an instruction group for intelligence and reconnaissance.
What you will do.
- Manage, maintain, and keep ICT hardware and software up-to-date.
- Implement new ICT systems and applications.
- Manage and further develop the GIS portal and its associated database.
- Analyze and resolve ICT and GIS-related malfunctions and problems.
- Perform change, configuration, and material management.
- Identify recurring problems and seek structural solutions.
- Actively contribute ideas regarding requirements and wishes for new or replacement ICT and GIS resources.
- Test and evaluate new hardware and software.
- Advise supervisors and colleagues on ICT, GIS, and technical issues.
- Monitor developments in GIS, drones, sensors, and other innovative technology.
- Support instructors and trainees with ICT-related activities during courses and training.
- Combine ICT with geo-information, working with GIS portals, geographical databases, drone data, LiDAR, imagery, and 3D data.
Profile
- Minimum MBO-4 diploma in informatics, ICT, computer technology, or a comparable education.
- Some experience with managing ICT systems, hardware, software, and networks.
- Analytical and accurate, able to independently investigate and solve technical problems.
- Good communication skills to explain technical information clearly to colleagues.
- Takes initiative and actively contributes ideas for improvements and new applications.
- Flexible and able to collaborate effectively with various colleagues and organizations.
- Interested in new developments within ICT, GIS, and innovative technology.
- A true team player.
- Diligent and integral, especially concerning information and information security.
Preferences.
- MBO-4 education in Geo, Data & Design, Geo-ICT, or surveying.
- Knowledge of GIS, geo-information, LiDAR, 3D data, drone data, and imagery.
