- With a network of thousands of volunteers and hundreds of paid employees, we protect the rights of refugees and offer personal support, advocacy, and legal guidance.
- As a Legal Advisor Temporary Protection Directive (TPD), you contribute to strengthening the legal position and advocacy for displaced persons from a specific country.
- You do this by interpreting legal information on the application of the TPD and drafting clear advice on this for lawyers, volunteers, and paid employees of the organization.
- The TPD Expertise team currently consists of legal advisors and a senior legal advisor (coordinator).
What you do
- Advising: at the legal helpdesk, you advise paid employees and lawyers by phone or email.
- Expertise: you closely follow and interpret developments in legislation, jurisprudence, and policy, and translate these into usable information for various internal and external target groups/partners.
- Research: you conduct desk research based on specific questions from the organization or third parties.
What they ask
- You have obtained a Master's degree in Law.
- You have knowledge of immigration law.
- You have an affinity with the target group of displaced persons from a specific country.
- You are able to quickly master a relatively new legal field, namely the Temporary Protection Directive (2001/55/EC) and its implementation.
- You have very strong advisory, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- You show initiative, can work well independently as well as collaboratively, are environmentally aware, and decisive.
