Within a research institution, a technical project collaborator is sought for projects focused on advanced production technologies. The department focuses on fundamental and applied research into innovative production technologies and production systems, with special attention to material processing, digitalization of production processes, quality control, and sustainable manufacturing industry.
What you do
- Research and development in the field of Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) of metallic and ceramic materials.
- Development and optimization of hardware and software for improving existing and new machines, with particular attention to slurry-based printing systems.
- Testing, evaluating, and fine-tuning developed systems and components, including hardware, software, and optical systems.
- Collaborating within a specialized team to integrate, test, and validate new developments on various machines.
- Contributing to the further development, integration, and optimization of the printing systems used.
Profile
- Preferably a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering Sciences, with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering. Candidates with relevant technical knowledge and experience are also eligible.
- Demonstrable experience with the use of AI for simulations and data processing.
- Knowledge and experience with commonly used software for mechanical engineering, such as CAD, CAE, Matlab, Python.
- Demonstrable knowledge of 3D printing with polymers and/or metals.
- Passion for mechanical engineering and the ability to combine practical skills with analytical insight.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a small team.
- Energized by tackling technical challenges and working in a solution-oriented manner.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
