Technical Administrator Microsoft Fabric & Azure Landing Zone

Within an organization, Microsoft Fabric is used as a platform for data, analytics, and reporting.
- For the technical setup and management of this platform, various Microsoft Azure components and a (partially) configured Azure Landing Zone are utilized.
- The specialist will be responsible for the technical management, professionalization, and further development of the Microsoft Fabric and Azure landing zone environment.
- The emphasis is explicitly on the technical infrastructure and platform configuration.
- This assignment is not primarily focused on data analysis, Power BI development, or building Fabric data products.
- The area of focus is the technical foundation on which these services run: Azure, networking, identity, security, logging, monitoring, automation, and the technical configuration of Microsoft Fabric.
- The technical administrator ensures that the Fabric environment is set up to be secure, manageable, controllable, and future-proof.
- The assignment should contribute to an Azure landing zone that the Fabric environment can connect to.
- The overall goal is a Fabric environment that is securely and demonstrably managed, administered according to established Azure architecture principles, standardized and automated as much as possible, equipped with adequate logging and monitoring, uses applicable standards within the organization, is set up reproducibly and transferable, well-documented, and can be structurally managed by the internal management organization.
- Additionally, technical risks and improvement points are actively identified and translated into concrete improvement measures.
What you will do.
- Manage and further develop the Azure Landing Zone to which the Fabric environment can connect.
- Manage and maintain the technical components that enable integration between Microsoft Fabric and the Azure infrastructure.
- Set up and manage Azure resources, including Azure Key Vaults, Storage Accounts, Log Analytics Workspaces, Azure Monitor, Network Security Groups (NSGs), Virtual Networks and subnets, Private Endpoints and Private Link, DNS-related configuration, Managed Identities, RBAC roles, and authorizations.
- Set up and manage logging, monitoring, and auditing.
- Monitor and improve the security posture of the Azure environment.
- Apply and manage Azure Policies and technical guardrails.
- Support the application of least privilege and an appropriate RBAC structure.
- Support the setup of secure connections between Fabric and data sources.
- Set up and manage network connectivity around the data and Fabric environment.
- Analyze and resolve technical disruptions and configuration issues.
- Assess changes for technical impact and manageability.
- Automate and standardize technical configurations where possible.
- Document and keep technical documentation, configurations, and management procedures up-to-date.
- Advise on improvements in availability, security, performance, manageability, and costs.
- Collaborate with other Azure, security, network, and data specialists.

- You will collaborate with data engineers, data architects, security specialists, Azure administrators, and other involved ICT disciplines.
- A hands-on technical specialist is explicitly sought.

- You are the technical administrator who ensures that the Fabric environment not only functions but is also securely, manageably, controllably, and future-proof configured.
- You collaborate with various specialists to continuously keep the technical foundation secure, manageable, and future-proof.

- Completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable work experience with technical management of Microsoft Azure and Azure Landing Zones, including networking (VNETs, subnets, NSGs, Private Endpoints, Private Link, and DNS), Azure Key Vault, Storage Accounts, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, RBAC, Managed Identities, Azure Policy, and technical governance/security guardrails.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable work experience with automating and managing Azure infrastructure, including Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Bicep or Terraform), Azure DevOps/CI/CD, and scripting with PowerShell and/or Azure CLI.
Preferences.
- Demonstrable knowledge of technical configuration of Fabric components.
- Demonstrable work experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, and Privileged Identity Management.
- Demonstrable work experience with Infrastructure as Code, for example, Bicep or Terraform.
- Demonstrable work experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
- Demonstrable work experience within a governmental or comparable enterprise organization.
- Demonstrable relevant Microsoft certifications, for example, in Azure Administration, Azure Architecture, Security, or Fabric.
