Flood Defense Asset Manager

You will work for a water management organization committed to safe dikes and sufficient and clean water. You will be part of the Water Management department, specifically the flood defense asset team, which consists of an asset manager, a policy officer, a project manager, a data specialist, and four asset managers.

What you will do.

  • Establish frameworks and monitor processes for the management and maintenance of flood defenses, with a focus on risk management and data analysis
  • Contribute to filling and maintaining the 'Ultimo' maintenance management system
  • Drive the determination and acquisition of current, reliable, and complete management information
  • Support the flood defense asset team in various areas
  • Update CBP RWK including appendices such as operating protocols
  • Develop basic dike specifications for both PWK and RWK
  • Evaluate plans and management strategies
  • Develop monitoring plans for SLD piezometers and PWK foreland erosion (collect data, interpret, and prescribe courses of action)
  • Implement beaver-deterrent measures for PWK
  • Establish/update flood defense registers, especially for regional flood defenses (RWK revision projects from 2010)

What they ask

  • Completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level in civil engineering or land and water management
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 10 years as a Flood Defense Asset Manager

Preferences.

  • Demonstrable work experience in a comparable sector within the flood defense world
  • Demonstrable knowledge of specific methodologies, legislation, or systems, such as knowledge of flood defense management
  • A self-written motivation letter from the candidate clearly and concretely explaining how he/she best fits the assignment and detailing the required knowledge and expertise
