The assignment involves guiding young people aged 13 to 18 who have often experienced a lot. They need structure and regularity. The guidance is provided 24/7 to support these young people in living independently from the age of 18, whether in a reception center, their country of origin, or their own home.
What you do
- Conduct regular mentor meetings with the young people.
- Maintain contact with external organizations and aid workers, such as guardians, schools, and general practitioners.
- Ensure a safe and livable residential environment.
- Be a visible point of contact for the young people.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues within the team.
- Participate in regular meetings and intervision sessions to ensure quality.
What they ask Education.
- A relevant HBO or WO diploma in Social Work, MWD, SPH, CMV, Teacher Training, Pedagogy, Psychology, or another Social Sciences diploma.
- Be SKJ registered or have the possibility to obtain SKJ registration within two years.
- A relevant MBO diploma combined with SKJ registration is also welcome.
Work experience.
- Preferably, work experience in youth care, mental health care, within a care institution, and/or welfare work.
Personality.
- Be resilient and stand your ground.
- Be empathetic, without losing professional distance.
- Be clear in setting boundaries.
Flexibility.
- Be available for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts (night shifts are always wake-up shifts). This is a strict requirement.
- Always work with at least one other colleague.
Practical
You will work at one of the reception facilities. The size of the reception facilities and the number of young people vary per location. A team consists of 15 to 40 employees, including youth workers, residential supervisors, and behavioral experts.
