Energy Supervisor
This assignment focuses on promoting compliance with environmental regulations by companies, contributing to the work plans of an environmental service. You will have contact with companies, property owners, internal colleagues, and local authorities. Although you primarily work independently, preventive and repressive controls can also be carried out in teams. Collaboration with advisors and/or permit providers is possible.
The organization aims for good quality of life for over 1.3 million inhabitants in its working area and is a joint environmental service of a province and several municipalities. It works on permit issuance, supervision, and enforcement for high-risk companies in a region with high industrialization and population density, in close cooperation with other government institutions.
What you do
- Handle notifications regarding information duty, investigation duty, savings obligation, label obligation, and work-related personal mobility, including company visits and potential action plans.
- Perform preventive controls: checking companies and properties for compliance with relevant environmental legislation (energy theme), without suspicion of violation. This includes preparation, execution, and reporting.
- Perform inventory controls: during a company visit, determine the scope of a company or property and establish the applicable legal framework.
- Perform follow-up controls: in response to a previously observed violation or suspicion thereof. This includes preparation, execution, reporting, and formal notice.
- Assess energy action plans: evaluate whether an action plan is soundly developed for customized approval, including reporting.
Profile
As an experienced supervisor/inspector, you contribute to promoting compliance with relevant environmental legislation, with a focus on the energy theme. You will have regular contact with companies and property owners, internal colleagues, and local authorities. You primarily work independently, but preventive and repressive controls can also be carried out in teams upon request.
What they ask
- Minimum HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level.
- Knowledge of the Omgevingswet/Bal/Bbl/permit obligation.
- Experience with performing (energy) controls.
- Driving license B, or another means to independently perform controls by car throughout the entire area.
- VCA-VOL certification at the start of the assignment.
Desired.
- Minimum 100 energy controls performed in the last 3 years.
- Experience with assessing information duty notifications.
- Extensive knowledge of energy saving.
