Personal supervisor child, youth and family
An organization helps people with an intellectual and/or psychological disability to lead as normal a life as possible. The focus is on what is possible. The organization is spread across more than 200 locations, in the heart of society, close to the people they help. Collaboration between clients, the personal network, and the professional is central.
An Expertise Center is a treatment center where, together with parents or caregivers, the network, referrers, and chain partners, questions regarding a child's development and behavior are examined. Children with developmental questions, a developmental delay, and/or an intellectual or multiple disability sometimes require research, specific treatment, or guidance.
From these locations, children up to 18 years old are supported and treated. Together, the needs of the child and family are mapped out and translated into concrete developmental goals and appropriate guidance. The offerings include day treatment, school support, specialized after-school care, a Saturday club, and overnight stays. Within day treatment, each child receives a customized program, tailored to their needs and developmental goals.
Group moments, daily tasks, and playful activities contribute to basic calm and stimulate social, emotional, and motor development. During toilet moments and other ADL tasks, appropriate support is offered, and children are encouraged to act as independently as possible.
