Technical Inspector

• You supervise quality, (fire) safety, and contractual requirements, and document findings in reports.
• You report to the person responsible for project execution on progress, quality, and safety.
• You perform or organize measurements and checks on installations and structural constructions.
• You monitor the progress of executing parties and check safety procedures.
• You address parties where necessary.

• Together with the responsible person, you ensure complete and verified revision documents.
• You clearly identify deviations and remaining points and make clear agreements about them.

• You work within the framework of professional policy, occupational health and safety legislation, building decree/BBL, safety regulations, and rules in work permits of the organization.
• You inform supervisors, project managers, and oversight bodies about inspection results and interventions.
• You monitor the contractual compliance of executing parties regarding technical, qualitative, and safety aspects.
• You report per project on observed deviations and their possible consequences.
• If safety is compromised, you can halt activities.

What they ask

• MBO or HBO level of thinking and working, and a degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
• VCA-vol certification and preferably a safety engineering qualification at least at level 1 (basic safety engineering).
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role, for example, as an inspector, supervisor, work planner, executor, or safety expert in construction or technology; experience within a hospital environment is a plus.
• Up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations and internal safety regulations.
• Knowledge of one or more specialisms, such as chromium-6, asbestos, and/or legionella.
• Knowledge of administrative and organizational processes within projects.
• Good at organizing and prioritizing tasks.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and present information, and to prepare clear (project) reports.
• Easy communication with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and users.
• Quick recognition of dangerous situations and adequate intervention.
• Ability to assess installations, structural works, and the execution of activities.

Where you will work. You will join the inspection, supervision, and safety (IT&V) team of an academic medical center. This team consists of senior and medior technical inspectors and safety employees responsible for integrated (fire) safety. You will work closely, interact frequently with various parties, and dare to intervene when the situation demands it. The atmosphere in the team is professional and collegial.
