DevSecOps Java Engineer

South HollandHybridHours negotiable6-12months

A government service is looking for a developer for the continuous development of a generic digital service. The goal is to provide citizens and businesses with secure and reliable digital access to services and products of government organizations. As a DevSecOps developer, you contribute to this by participating in the continuous development of a system for electronic identity and trust services, which enables cross-border authentication on government websites within the European Union.

A government organization has a modern access gateway for its services and inspections, some of which are already securely and reliably accessible to citizens and businesses from various EU countries. This contributes to national plans and European regulations for establishing digital identities and authorizations, using standardized and secure means within the EU. This project is still in the start-up phase.

You ensure optimal fulfillment of customer requirements through substantive, technical, and functional alignment for the different streams.

What you do

  • Development and management (DevSecOps) of the interface, including the eIDAS node and the messaging service.
  • Technical implementation of specifications for electronic transaction services (ETD) and eIDAS.
  • Develop and manage the eIDAS interface according to the DevSecOps approach.
  • Translate specifications into technical solutions.
  • Develop and manage eIDAS links, including the eIDAS node and the messaging service.
  • Build links for question-and-answer traffic between national and foreign government services.
  • Realize various links with the team, taking into account diverse customer requirements and software.
  • Contribute to thinking about solutions for complex issues, such as mandatory input fields for national identification numbers.
  • Facilitate logging in to a national government website for citizens from other EU countries, with the link routing traffic between the national government website and foreign digital identity services.
  • Contribute to the reverse process, for example, facilitating payments for offenses in other EU countries via national digital identity services.

Profile

  • Good collaboration with team leadership, developers, and management.
  • Substantive, functional, and technical alignment with customers for optimal fulfillment of customer requirements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Perform tests.
  • Participate in investigating solutions for incidents (e.g., server outages, login problems).

What they ask

  • Completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in Computer Science.
  • Ability to perform this role independently.
  • Demonstrable experience with Java and Spring.
  • Demonstrable experience with Kubernetes and containerization.
  • Demonstrable experience with SAML and cryptography.

Desired skills.

  • Good communication skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Team player.
  • Knowledge and experience gained at government organizations.
  • Knowledge of SAML and OpenID protocols.
