What you will do. As a Youth Consultant, you will work in a multidisciplinary basic team for youth and family. The incoming questions are very diverse, meaning the tasks can vary from providing information, offering short-term support, referring to specialized youth care, and case management.
- You focus on educational, relational, material, individual, and social problems of children and the family.
- You support the family and jointly assess their support needs.
- You strengthen the self-reliance of the child/youth and their parents/caregivers.
- You focus on possibilities and collaborate closely with other professionals.
- You coordinate care and play a pivotal role as a case manager.
- You are a networker and have knowledge of the work of collaborating partners such as specialized care providers, Veilig Thuis, and youth protection.
- You refer to specialized care if necessary.
- You have the courage to let go where possible and to act decisively when needed.
- You work closely with primary and secondary education.
What they ask
- Minimum HBO (higher professional education) level education, relevant to the field (e.g., MWD, SPH, or (ortho)pedagogy).
- Knowledge of youth development in all age phases.
- SKJ registered and willing to follow training to maintain that registration.
- Experience working with Veilig Thuis and youth protection.
- Knowledge of mental health (GGZ) issues.
- Experience in guiding families with complex, diverse problems.
- Excellent conversational skills and the ability to empower others; good at assessing the nature and severity of the situation.
- Persuasiveness and decisiveness; a strong personality.
- Good collaboration and networking skills.
- You recognize yourself in an agile, innovative, reliable, and involved way of working.
Practical
