An educational support organization is recruiting a part-time regional network coordinator for the project 'Samen tegen Schooluitval' (Together against School Dropout), aimed at preventing and addressing early school leaving. The coordinator is responsible for regional management in a specific province. The project starts in September 2026 and focuses on supporting and coaching schools in reducing school dropout.
The knowledge built up over the years must be shared and disseminated, with a specialized website serving as an important reference point. The focus is on regions with the highest school dropout rates.
What you will do.
- Guiding schools in a functional team:
- Facilitate the start-up of a functional team at schools or strengthen existing structures within selected priority schools.
- Bring together management, care coordinators/student counselors, CLB (Centre for Student Guidance), pedagogical support services, and other stakeholders around themes related to early school leaving (attendance policy, inclusive school climate, discipline, etc.).
- Guide the process with this functional team: intake interview, assistance with SWOT analysis and data analysis, support the thought process to arrive at an action plan, monitor the implementation and embedding of this plan.
- Data-driven analysis and action planning:
- Support schools and CLBs in analyzing school and context data (absences, SES indicators, disciplinary issues, other marginal signals).
- Help translate this data into concrete, feasible action plans tailored to the school context.
- Formulate policy advice on tackling school dropout.
- Deployment of the modular support offering:
- Introduce and advise on linked support modules and materials, tailored to the needs of the functional team.
- The possibility of giving a local training or keynote.
- Collect feedback and practical experiences to continuously enrich the Flemish offering and the website.
- Partner alignment & local network formation:
- Keep a finger on the pulse in relevant local networks and put the theme of school dropout on the agenda where appropriate.
- Consultative work & Professionalization:
- Offer consultative support (advice, referral to the website, explanation of modules) to schools and (educational) partners with questions about school dropout.
- Coordinate the cross-network operation of the professional learning communities of the CLBs regarding school dropout in your region.
- Participate in intervisions with fellow coordinators from other regions to share knowledge and sharpen expertise.
Profile
