Behavioral Specialist

The assignment focuses on clients with mild to severe intellectual disabilities, sometimes with additional limitations or challenging behavior.

The goal is to unravel the meaning of behavior and creatively seek possibilities for clients to lead as normal and independent a life as possible.
You will be part of a close-knit and enthusiastic team of behavioral specialists.

What you do

You are connected to various residential locations and treat clients in a demand-driven manner.
You determine, together with the client, supervisors, and possibly relatives, what diagnostics and treatment are needed.
Weekly, you discuss treatment requests, required expertise, and treatment adjustments with your colleagues.
You make an important contribution to the professional care for clients with intellectual disabilities.
The focus is primarily on imaging, diagnostics, and treatment, such as research into autism or depression, CBT, and trauma treatment.
Treatment is provided both individually and mediately through the location's team.
You collaborate extensively with coordinating supervisors, location managers, and care consultants.
As an experienced and expert colleague, you provide work supervision, advise on complex issues, and participate in policy development.
You contribute to continuous quality improvement and innovative care solutions, focusing on the well-being of clients.
You engage in evidence-based diagnostics and treatment, advise supervisors and relatives, and identify areas for improvement.
You are part of a national Expertise Center responsible for shaping treatment.
Collaboration with physiotherapists, dietitians, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and art therapists is possible.
You work with various organizations, networks, and chain partners for care and quality.

Academic degree (WO) in Orthopedagogy/Psychology.
Optionally supplemented with a GZ-psychologist or Orthopedagogue-Generalist qualification.
Knowledge of the target group and their specific issues (diseases, syndromes, behavioral disorders, various forms of handicaps/limitations).
Energized by the dynamics that clients with intellectual disabilities bring.
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, prescriptions, and protocols, or willingness to deepen this knowledge.
Willingness to travel and possession of a driver's license.
