Income Consultant

Social security is in motion, with a focus on tailor-made solutions, trust in the citizen, and working according to the intention. As an income consultant at a governmental organization, you have a challenging and varied job. You can truly make a difference for residents and will be in frequent contact with them, colleagues, and various network partners.

You will join an energetic team of approximately 40 colleagues, including income consultants, special target group consultants, special assistance consultants, objection and appeal officers, and recovery and recourse officers. Together, you ensure proper implementation of the Participation Act and offer support to residents with (complex) assistance questions.

What you will do.

• Conduct effectiveness interviews with residents about their situation regarding important areas of life.
• Investigate whether residents are utilizing the provisions they are entitled to.
• Assess applications under the Participation Act and other regulations based on interviews, data verification, and sometimes home visits.
• Determine the right to benefits and apply changes or terminate benefits when there is no longer a right.
• Conduct investigations and make trade-offs between legislation, personal circumstances, and the effects of decisions (working according to the intention).
• Inventory and stimulate opportunities for participation and increasing self-reliance or offering steps towards participation or financial stability.
• Provide appropriate guidance to residents.
• Record results in reports and decisions.
• Collaborate with external parties for actual job placement.
• Be responsible for your own caseload.

What they ask

• Demonstrably completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level.
• Minimum 2 years of demonstrable work experience as an income consultant in the past 5 years.
• Minimum 2 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years with conducting intake interviews for subsistence allowance applications under the Participation Act.
• A motivation letter, prepared by the candidate themselves, is attached to the candidate's CV.
• Candidate agrees to the stipulated secondment condition.

Wishes.

• Demonstrably completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level in the field of law, social legal services, or social work / services.
• Minimum 4 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 8 years as an income consultant within a governmental organization.
• Demonstrable work experience with the AWB (General Administrative Law Act).
