As a Data Engineer, you play an important role in the further development of an organization's data platform. You ensure that data is securely, reliably, and efficiently available for colleagues, reports, and AI applications. This supports services to thousands of vocational students, educational institutions, and training companies. You develop scalable data solutions within a cloud environment and contribute to a data platform that is constantly evolving.
Together with four other Data Engineers, you work on solutions for both batch and streaming processing. You work with approximately one to two dozen data sources and utilize various data storage and processing tools. As an experienced professional, you look beyond just the technical aspects. You contribute to the technical design of the platform, share knowledge with colleagues, and help create a future-proof data environment. AI plays an increasingly important role within the organization.
You develop datasets used for AI applications and leverage AI to develop software more efficiently. Simultaneously, you contribute to building a platform ready for the next step in data-driven work.
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and data streams.
- Develop data solutions within a modern data platform and cloud environment.
- Model, integrate, and unlock data for reports, analyses, and AI applications.
- Monitor and improve the quality, reliability, and performance of the data environment.
- Collaborate with data architects, information analysts, and other IT specialists.
- Contribute to the further development of the data platform.
Profiel
You are an experienced Data Engineer who combines technical depth with a pragmatic approach. You are energized by complex technical challenges and enjoy contributing to the further development of the data platform. You know how to involve colleagues in your ideas and make technical choices that align with the organization's ambitions. Additionally, you possess:
- A completed higher professional education (hbo) or university (wo) degree, for example in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Data Science.
- At least five years of relevant work experience as a Data Engineer.
- Extensive experience with cloud data solutions. Experience with a specific data platform is a strong plus.
- Experience with SQL, Python, Spark, and modern ELT processes.
- Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and data modeling.
- An analytical and proactive work attitude.
- Proficiency in the Dutch language (B2).
