Youth Protector

This role in youth protection focuses on families with children with an (intellectual) disability or chronic illness, and children of parents with a disability. The goal is to make a difference for these families.
What you do
- You play a crucial coordinating role in collaborating with families, chain partners, and other important stakeholders.
- You monitor the stability of the situation and intervene if it deteriorates to ensure the safety of children.
- You guide families, conduct firm conversations, and offer clear support, often in complex problem situations.
- You balance physical presence with families and updating files.
- You carefully document all information for follow-up.
- You collaborate with various partners such as government agencies, police, and educational institutions for an effective approach.
Profile
- Completed Bachelor's degree (e.g., Social Work, MWD, Pedagogy).
- Registration in the SKJ register.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with families and/or youth. Experience in another field with complex issues is a plus.
- Energy, courage, and perseverance to tackle challenging situations and find satisfaction in achieving small results.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for conducting conversations, building connections, and writing clear documents.
Practical aspects.
- During the initial period, you will work with an onboarding mentor.
- A practical coach will provide content support and tools.
- You will have time to get acquainted and observe colleagues.
- After approximately 9-12 months, you will function independently as a youth protector.
- The team combines working from home with office days, with bi-weekly meetings for case discussions and knowledge sharing.
- Regular lunches, team outings, and training sessions are organized.
