As an IT specialist within the Internal Audit Department of a government organization, you will help the organization improve further. You will contribute to the annual audit plan and conduct internal audits throughout the organization, with a focus on IT. You will critically examine systems, processes, and risks, but especially how things can be improved. You will collaborate with colleagues, provide practical advice, and help strengthen IT governance.
You will also provide input on topics such as information security, data management, and vendor management. Experience as an auditor is not required. The organization is looking for someone who knows IT systems, technology, and processes from practice and wants to develop in the audit profession. You will be given the opportunity to further develop audit skills with guidance from experienced colleagues.
What you will do.
- You will conduct internal audits on IT-related topics within the organization.
- You will investigate how IT systems, processes, and technology work in practice and translate your findings into concrete improvement points.
- You will identify risks and contribute to strengthening our IT foundations.
- You will advise on information security, data management, and IT management processes.
- You will provide input for the annual audit plan based on your IT knowledge.
- You will prepare reports and recommendations and monitor the progress of improvement measures.
Profile
- A completed university (WO) education.
- Experience as an auditor is not required; a solid IT foundation and the willingness to learn the audit profession are sought.
- Relevant work or study experience with MS 365, Azure, and database systems.
- Curious and analytical, you enjoy figuring out how things work and maintaining an overview.
- Creative and entrepreneurial, you ask questions and take initiative.
- Flexible and able to quickly switch between different topics and levels.
- Strong communication skills and able to explain complex topics clearly to colleagues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch are required for this role.
