The Supervision and Enforcement team is part of a Permits, Supervision and Enforcement department and consists of approximately twenty inspectors. Work is done both from home and in the office, and frequently outdoors. Despite working independently, connection with colleagues is considered important. The environment offers various construction challenges, such as renovations and new uses in a monumental city center, a large new construction project, urban renewal, and housing improvement.
What you do
- Inspect construction projects to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Supervise compliance with building permits and assess whether projects are executed according to the granted permits and associated conditions.
- Enforce measures and provide support when rules are violated.
- Document findings and report them to supervisors and involved parties.
- Actively address complaints from the neighborhood and advise project developers, contractors, and citizens on building regulations and procedures.
- Inspect residential buildings for fire safety and occupancy notifications.
- Conduct inspections on event constructions, focusing on structure and fire safety.
- Oversee and manage a safe environment around construction sites.
- Guide new colleagues with your experience.

- Experience as an inspector, project leader, supervisor, or foreman in construction with knowledge of municipal building supervision is required.
- You want to drive better construction quality and have knowledge of building systems and techniques.
- MBO diploma and HBO working and thinking level.
- Willingness to follow training courses, such as ABW1 (Building and Housing Supervision Officer).
- Environmentally aware, independent (neutral/unbiased), and able to assess the consequences of your actions and sometimes sensitive situations.
- Independent and a team player.
- Professional, communicatively skilled, persistent, and decisive under pressure.
- Digitally proficient with ICT applications and tablets.
