The location offers housing, guidance, and care to people who have often had to deal for years with psychiatric vulnerability, addiction, homelessness, or a combination thereof. Participants have their own history, dreams, and way of looking at the world. The location consists of two departments, one of which focuses on participants with psychiatric and addiction problems as well as a mild intellectual disability (MID). You will work closely with a fellow department manager and form a strong leadership duo.
You will work in a multidisciplinary team with counselors, behavioral scientists, nurses, night watchmen, and caretakers.
What you will do. As a Department Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of professionals. You will be visible on the work floor, bring calm and direction, and ensure a work environment where employees feel supported and can grow. The location faces several important challenges, including strengthening the team and further building a close-knit and professional team culture. You will be a connecting and stable factor in this.
Together with the behavioral scientist and another manager, you will form the trio that provides direction to the department. You will support employees, encourage ownership, and ensure that vision, policy, and care plans are actually visible in the guidance of participants. You will monitor the quality of care, identify development opportunities, and actively work on further professionalization of the department. You will also play an important role in preparing for housing developments.
This requires leadership that provides direction, connects people, and carefully guides change. You will translate these changes into clear plans, create support within the team, and keep an eye on what these developments mean for both employees and participants. Outside the location, you will be an important discussion partner. You will maintain contacts with municipalities, chain partners, and other involved organizations, and represent the institution in a professional and accessible manner.
In this role, you will:
- lead a team of approximately 20 employees and guide them in their development
- build a stable team with sufficient staffing and a positive work culture
- manage the quality of care, safety, and methodical working
- guide change processes, including the housing assignment
- maintain relationships with internal and external collaboration partners
- ensure that participants can count on an environment where they feel seen, heard
Profile
You are a leader who is visibly present and easily connects. You create an environment where employees feel safe to take initiative, learn from each other, and take shared responsibility. You dare to make choices and provide direction when the situation demands it. Furthermore, you bring:
- An HBO (higher professional education) degree, preferably supplemented with a management education or the willingness to pursue one
- Managerial experience within the social domain
- Experience with team development, change processes, and creating a positive work climate
- The ability to bring together different perspectives and strengthen collaboration
- Affinity with addiction care, psychiatry, and social shelter
- Willingness to perform on-call duties
- You can provide a Certificate of Good Conduct upon employment
- You are a Christian and can indicate what this means to you.
