Truancy Officer

• Investigate the causes of school absenteeism and make agreements with students and parents or guardians
• Handle absenteeism reports according to the Methodical Approach to School Absenteeism (MAS)
• Where necessary, deploy appropriate assistance, refer to a specialized agency, or draw up an official report
• Collaborate with schools, aid workers
• Participate in care consultations and hold consultation hours at schools
• Where necessary, apply expertise within a transition point to support young people in finding a suitable path towards education, work, or another sustainable future perspective
• Ensure careful handling and registration of casework and a proper handover upon completion
