Night Care Support Worker

GelderlandHybrid36 hours/week<3months

As a night care support worker, caregiver, or nurse, you provide support to people with disabilities, acquired brain injury, and/or physical disabilities. Each night brings unique challenges and requires a flexible approach for diverse target groups. You ensure that clients feel safe while independently responding to their care needs. During the night, you perform checks and provide personal care. Sometimes you are confronted with hectic situations that require quick action.

You are never entirely alone, as a night care coordinator is always available as backup. The tasks in night care are diverse.

What you do

  • You are the face of the night, preparing clients for the night and putting them to bed. You look beyond the care plan and focus on providing extra comfort.
  • You perform actions such as medication administration, wound care, and support clients with their personal hygiene. You offer safety, structure, and build a relationship of trust.
  • You provide a listening ear to residents who cannot sleep and are truly there for them.
  • You act appropriately in unexpected events, such as a fall or an acute medical emergency, and quickly switch to other locations if additional help is needed.

The teams work at locations where people with acquired brain injury, physical disabilities, severe intellectual disabilities, or severe multiple disabilities reside.

What they ask Enjoyment is paramount in caring for and nursing people with disabilities. It is important that you enjoy contact with clients and want to contribute to their well-being. You have an eye for vulnerability and easily connect with their world. You look for opportunities, discuss them, and dare to seize them to make a real difference. Your input on how to better organize care is appreciated. Additionally, we ask for:

  • A completed MBO level 3 or 4 education in care and welfare, such as Caregiver IG, MZ, or Nurse.
  • Willingness to work in varying shifts.

Profile

The team consists of centralists, support workers, caregivers, and nurses. Work is often done solo at varying locations, but a night coordinator and a core team are always available as backup. At larger locations with multiple residences, you work with multiple people at night. The team is flexible and knows how to react to unexpected situations or emergencies that may arise during the night.

Practical

You start with a temporary contract with the prospect of a permanent position. Employment conditions are in accordance with the collective labor agreement for disability care. There are attractive secondary employment benefits, such as an end-of-year bonus and tax advantages for, for example, a weekend getaway. Great importance is attached to your development.
