As a landscape advisor, you will work on projects that truly matter, from area developments and public spaces to green-blue structures and landscape integration throughout the city. The city was designed from its landscape: the water, the polder scale, the long green lines are in the DNA of this city. You will help safeguard and further build upon this identity.
You will work within the Urban Planning and Landscape cluster, part of both the Spatial Development and Policy team and the Spatial Strategy and Development team, collaborating with 8 professional colleagues.
What you do
- Safeguard landscape quality and translate ambitions into concrete plans, principles, and designs.
- Advise on landscape, green-blue structures, and spatial quality within projects and programs.
- Translate visions and ambitions into design principles, sketches, spatial frameworks, and layout proposals.
- Contribute to thinking about climate adaptation, biodiversity, soil, and water as drivers of spatial development.
- Assess plans from colleagues, initiators, and market parties for landscape quality and coherence.
- Collaborate with urban planners, spatial planners, ecologists, civil engineering colleagues, and project and program managers.
- Contribute to tasks in both the existing city and new developments.
- Independently handle advice and sub-assignments, coordinating closely with colleagues in the field.
What they ask
- Completed HBO or WO education in landscape architecture, landscape design, or a comparable field.
- Demonstrable work experience within the field: minimum 3 years.
- Sense of spatial quality and the ability to articulate it clearly.
- Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD and Adobe, and preferably also GIS and/or SketchUp.
- Affinity with themes such as climate adaptation, biodiversity, water, public space, and area development.
